    Question, can any of the ports be configured as the WAN port? I won’t have 10gbps Internet for some time so, for the time being, I’d like to use a 2.5Gbps port for WAN to free up both 10Gbps ports for other uses (e.g., WiFi 7 access points). Thanks!

    Ditto on both of @Leonid statements:

    I second the vote for the black limited edition, perhaps similar style and finish as the other models :)

    And as much as I am in the “passive cooling” camp, I love my Gold so much and have such a tremendous respect for the Firewalla team and their approach and ability to execute that I couldn’t resist and preordered the Pro, super excited!

    @KenDMV, all Firewalla ports are routable. Meaning, they can be LAN or WAN. One of our Gold Pro is doing exactly what you do. One 10Gbit port to 10G WiFi 7 unit, and one 10Gbit port to a switch via SFP+ adapter. Two 2.5Gbit ports are used for WAN.

    To me a third 10G would be optimal.
    Though I am happy with only two,
    since the price is below 999 USD.
    Maybe later there will be an even bigger model with faster CPU.
    @firezilla: is it possible to buy the WiFiSD at the same time into the same shipping package, please?
    Also an EU Power Brick (unless included) is in my shopping list.
    Thank you for this very open process and the GOLDen PROfessional opportunity to be with you at the very beginning of the new era of affordable 10G for consumers and specialists alike!
    Powerful! Radiating! Electrifying!

    Has the color been set in stone? Or you’ll still debating? The black and gold does look alot better!

    I have also hated when there are no guiding LEDs and everything is black (&gold). I prefer finctionality over looks.

    @Firewalla:  I hope that the FWG Pro presale is continuing to go well.  Just came across your 3/29 Facebook post about your office running on the FWG Pro and saw in the accompanying photo that the rack mount kit for it had 6 slots for keystones on the right side.  Happy to see that and I hope that it is indicative of the direction that the rack mount kit is headed.

    I just want to tell everyone that Firewalla team has in plans to make a WiFi-7 access point as well as a switch. So people please make more noise about it, for Firewalla team to move this projects quicker 😅👍🏼

    I’m not affiliated with Firewalla, just like new toys I meant tools 😆

    I'd buy both of them in a heart beat but would ask that the AP be ceiling mountable, similar to the TPLink EAP series

    TAKE MY MONEY!
    I was delaying my quad-band (6GHz+6Ghz+..) WiFi7 Gaming router purchase, but I can wait a bit more if FireWalla has better (more connections) router on the plans. Do it fast or ASUS might take my money. I plan for two similar hardwired together with CAT7 ethernet cabling (already everywhere and double cabling for problem solving: it is not the wiring!).
    FireWalla: WiFi 7 router
    2024 or 2025?

    Here is the thread for Firewalla AP https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/27584001015315-Help-us-make-the-Firewalla-AP

    At the moment, we are still chasing vendors and ODM for price and better support. There are a couple of promising companies we are evaluating.

    @VeliPekka
    ASUS and Firewalla are not in the same category. You can buy the highest end router from ASUS, but you’d get only 5% what Firewalla can do in terms of firewall, security, QoS, VPN, and many more features. You can’t compare WiFi features, either because Firewalla’s current WiFi dongle were meant to be “nice-to-have” but not really meant for handling all the WiFi advanced features. A lot of people just attach APs from TPLink or UniFi to get all the advanced WiFi features to cover whole house or small office.

    I expect and hope Firewalla will match 98% of the advanced WiFi features those of Unifi or TPLink Omada line if they are really serious about WiFi solution.

    @rogcisco
    That's why I am going to have both the FireWalla Gold Pro and the WiFi (ASUS vs WiFi Gold Pro). Nobody has this kind of affordable yet fast firewall that is also easy (?) to set up.
    We can continue at the WiFi forum.
    I am pleased with the superior firewall solution.

    Here is the sample of the rack mount for the Gold Pro. This one estimated price will be around $49. The other option is two simple rabbit ears (two plates, no tray). This one likely cost $19. Unfortunately, we can only build one kind, as it is very expensive to create the tooling.

    We are preparing a simple survey for those who purchased the Gold Pro in a week or two to vote on this.

    Why not one tray and one simple??

    If you can release 3D CAD models for both/all ear types, then we can print/modify as needed. For mass market I would suggest one plain L shaped ear (no tray) and one keystone ear. This would also allow the ears to be reversible for more flexibility in cable routing.

    CAD models are usually owned by our vendor, getting those may cost us.

    The keystone ear can flip, but it will be upside down.

    @Troy, yes one tray and one simple is possible too, will add that to the survey questions. The price is likely just a few dollars lower than the keystone ones.

    Same here. Will be nice to have the tray to hold the power brick on one side and 6 port patch panel on the other side for WAN links.

    @Firewalla I like the picture you shared with the rack mount kit that has the shift for power brick and 6 keystone cut outs.  I like saving space so 2 birds one stone.  I'd pay $49 for it.

    @Firewalla beautiful!
    Please, add 49$ to the bill!
    Is the power brick included?
    I want to buy a fully fueled ferrari with the 🔑 in!
    How about a very long (5m) power cable? How much does it draw amps at 230 V?
    AND
    Where should I put the upcoming "WiFi Pro 7" ?? Under or ON TOP!!

    Thanks for sharing. With a future WiFi 7 access point, my hope is that you can consistently hit 1500+Mbps with Apple WiFi 6E clients from <20 feet, which is what the top-end TP-Link Omada EAP783 ($500) business access point can do. My TP-Link Deco 85 ($400-500), one of the top rated consumer mesh systems, consistently hits 1200Mbps with Apple 6E clients (iPhone 15 Pro Max, latest iPad Pro) from that distance.

    Another feature that would be great to have in a WiFi 7 access point is a power saving or eco mode for off-hours and night use. At work, I don’t need or want my access point pulling 40-50 watts during the weekend when no one is around. And at home, I want my Internet-of-things (IoT) devices to be able to connect, but I don’t need high power and high throughput at 4am while I am asleep. It would be great if device usage could drop from 40-50 watts to 15 watts or less based on a set schedule without causing 2.4ghz IoT devices to lose connectivity.

    @kenDMV I don't know what kind of AP you are using that actually pulls 40-50 watts. I have 3 Ruckus R770 APs, which are high end enterprise grade Wi-Fi 7 APs. While they are rated a maximum of ~40 w, real world residential usage as measured by my PoE switch is 14w steady state.

    With my iPhone 15 Pro, 160 MHz Channel, on WiFi 6E I can get 1500-1600 Mbps sustained with clear line of sight to the R770.
