If you just power cycle the Purple, how is the status light changing? Status Lights Definitions (When Booting up/Running)

I assume at this point, power off the firewalla (been stuck in "re-flash" for 2 hours) and remove the SD card then power on with no ethernet cable.  In this case it flashes blue for probably 5 minutes before turning off.

It sounds like Purple's system isn't up. Have you tried to use a different power supply (5V 3A)? See if it makes any differences.

I tried re-flashing twice, once each with 2 different raspberrypi 5v 3A power supplies.  Interesting with the PI power supplies the blinking blue status stopped, but then the status LED was off where as before it never stopped blinking blue.  Now I simply get a quick red status light then nothing.  If I plug in an ethernet cable I get a yellow led with light flickering.

If your blue light always flashing, can you check the SD card you are using? make sure you flash it correctly.

With the power supply that came with my firewalla purple the blue light never stopped blinking - after hours I unplugged the firewalla. Attempting to flash again using either of 2 raspberryPi power supplies the blue light began flashing.  I walked away and came back 30-40 minutes later and there was no LED light at all.  So, if it went to blinking red or solid red or solid blue - I did not witness it because I returned to no illuminated status.

How does one validate the SD card flashed correctly?

What program are you using flashing? Have you tried a different-sized SD card? ( or a different card ?)

If the flash doesn't stop, it means the unit may get stuck flashing. That may mean, the SSD inside the purple is bad, or your SD card is bad.

Brand new 16GB SanDisk Ultra for this purpose - I verified the check sum on the download, re imaged the SD card and now trying to re-flash the firewalla all I get is a solid red light.  Seems my purple died with just a few hundred hours on it.
