    Is there any particular reason why the shipping for Gold SE is double that of Purple?

    Is there a particular reason why those of us who signed up early cannot purchase a unit although it is now 9a PDT?

    Every time I go to the firewalla.com\goldse page I keep getting the pre registration sign up page. I'm not able to place an order. Any reason why?

    What happens to the 1U mount for the gold? Will it work with Gold SE?

    @cyber

    We recently surveyed reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/firewalla/comments/13w0xwk/firewalla_gold_rack_mount_plastic_vs_metal/), seems people like center (fixed location), all metal versions are better than having some plastic. Once we get the final design, we will share that here + social media. We are likely to pre-sale this as well;

    The rack mount kit will work with all Gold units, including Gold SE

    Is there a more clear photo somewhere of the mounting screws? The post says they're on the "back". Is this true, or are they on the bottom? I'll be replacing an old Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite 3, which I have wall mounted against a board hanging on a wall, so want to make sure this will work similarly.

    Once all the certifications are done, we will start the manufacturing process. (That may take anywhere from 1 month to 3 months). During that time, we should be able to do beta. Since the software is the same as the Gold, we'd like more beta test on the performance side.

    The beta will be final hardware + beta software.

    Does the Gold SE have a metal or plastic enclosure? I can't see it stated anywhere. I've ordered one anyway :D

    Gold SE (https://firewalla.com/goldse) units rolling down the production line. This is a limited build for beta software testing, once we have the outer cases ready (these cases will be manually made), we should be able to start beta.

    We're still waiting for casing tooling before we can go into final production.

    Status:

    • Gold SE passed FCC/CE already
    • The Gold SE first batch boards done (early than scheduled)
    • The Gold SE outside case "tooling" is still on schedule.

    Since the boards are ready, we are thinking paying extra for CNC based casing for a limited number of orders so we can start 'beta' earlier to have the software test out.

    Customer Success

    Hi everyone!

    We are excited to announce that Gold SE early access program applications are now open! As we have done with our past releases, we will ship these units out to select customers early so that we can receive feedback and fine-tune details for our general release.

    To sign up, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/esERooRyoNemSpmb6

    We may ask for you input on things like:

    • Logistics, packaging, and shipping
    • Unreleased software features
    • Migration between other units

    What to expect from the GSE early access units:

    • The main board is the final version.
    • The outside casing is created manually via CNC processing.
    • Due to the cost of the case, we are limiting the number of participants in the early access program.

    If you have any questions or need to change you shipping address, please send an email to help@firewalla.com.

    If at any point during testing, you notice issues with your Gold SE, please do not hesitate to reach out to help@firewalla.com for support!

    Early access orders will be shipped out in 2-3 waves. We will start shipping out to the selected customers in August.

    If selected for the program, we will reach out via email and you will also receive a shipping confirmation email with the tracking number.

    I received my early access unit (it's really well made!) and am trying to figure out how to wall mount it (flush against a piece of plywood on my basement wall). I see the two screws holes on the back, but based on this (https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046669734-Firewalla-Gold-Series-Installation-Guide) do I need a separate wall mount plate/rack? Or do I need to to jerryrig my own plate/board that I screw to it, then screw that to my wall (or use the 3d printed bracket I found on thingiverse)?

    Thanks!

    The Gold SE does not come with mounting plates. Is anyone else interested in mounting plates for GSE?

    Please make the mounting plate optional, I am buying the rack mount, I don't need it.

    Let me talk to my team and see if we can get some mounting plates, they will cost extra.

    The reason we removed the mounting plates is that not many people are using them;

    Have all beta testers been selected for each of the waves already? Or will waves 2 and 3 be selected later?

    I received my Gold SE (beta) over the weekend and set it up on Monday. I was having issues configuring my purple in Router mode and wanted more segmentation options without having to use VLANs.

    The setup was fairly straight forward.

    1. I put my WiFi router into Access Point (AP) mode
    2. I went unplugged the network cables from the cable modem
    3. I went through the GUI setup tutorial including plugging in the network cable between modem and router -- and it failed
    4. I unplugged my cable modem (waited for 30 seconds) and plugged it back in
    5. I went through the tutorial again and it worked.

    The setup was straight forward and I simply set it up new rather than migrating rules from my Purple.

    The interface loads very fast and I've created my segmentations and groups for my 60 devices connected. The four port option is cleaner and VLAN / Switch configuration.

    No issues so far and overall, I had this up and running in 30 minutes.
