- 1x Firewalla Drill Template (b)
- 1x Firewalla Mounting Bracket (c)
- 4x 6x30mm Screw Anchors (d)
- 4x M3 Screws (e)
The Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling can be mounted in a few ways:
- Method 1: Ceiling Mount & Wall Mount
- Method 2: Single Gang Box Mount & Double Gang Box Mount
- Method 3: T-Bar Ceiling Mount (Requires additional accessory, sold separately)
Method 1: Ceiling Mount & Wall Mount
Step 1:
Place the Drill Template (b) in the desired location on the wall or ceiling. Use a pencil or pen to mark the four holes for the mounting bracket screws. If the Ethernet cable comes out of the wall or ceiling, also mark the larger hole for the cable.
Step 2:
Remove the Drill Template (b) from the wall or ceiling. Using a power drill with a 6mm drill bit, carefully drill the screw holes marked in Step 1-2. If the Ethernet cable comes out of the wall or ceiling, use an 18mm drill bit.
Step 3:
Place the four Screw Anchors (d) into the pre-drilled holes. (Note: Screw anchors are not needed when installing on wood. Simply secure the bracket using the screws). If the Ethernet cable comes out of the wall or ceiling, route the cable through the larger hole. Align the four holes on the Mounting Bracket (c) with the screw anchors, ensuring the Firewalla logo is facing the wall. Secure the bracket by screwing in the four Screws (e) into the screw anchors.
Step 4:
Ensure the Ethernet cable supports PoE+. Connect the cable to the port on the back of the Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling (a). Then, place the Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling onto the mounting bracket and rotate the unit clockwise until it locks securely into place.
Method 2: Single and Double Gang Box
Step 1 (Single Gang Box):
Ensure the single gang box is securely fastened and flush with the wall. Make sure the wiring is accessible and properly routed.
Step 2 (Single Gang Box):
Align the bottom two holes of the Mounting Bracket (c) with the screw holes on the gang box, ensuring that the Firewalla logo faces the wall. Secure the bracket by inserting two Screws (e) in the screw holes. Route the Ethernet cable through the open space in the single gang box.
Step 3 (Single Gang Box):
Ensure the Ethernet cable supports PoE+. Connect the cable to the port on the back of the Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling (a). Then, place the Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling onto the mounting bracket. Rotate the unit clockwise until it locks securely into place.
Step 4 (Double Gang Box):
Ensure the double gang box is securely fastened and flush with the wall. Make sure the wiring is accessible and properly routed.
Step 5 (Double Gang Box):
Align the four holes of the Mounting Bracket (c) with the screw holes on the gang box, ensuring the Firewalla logo faces the wall. Secure the bracket by inserting four Screws (e) into the screw holes. Route the Ethernet cable through the open space in the double gang box.
Step 6 (Double Gang Box):
Ensure the Ethernet cable supports PoE+. Connect the cable to the port on the back of the Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling (a). Then, place the Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling onto the mounting bracket. Rotate the unit clockwise until it locks securely into place.
Method 3: T-Bar
A T-Bar Bracket (f) can be purchased separately. Learn more about the T-Bar Bracket.
Step 1:
Remove the ceiling tiles surrounding the T-Bar location for installation. Place the T-Bar Bracket (f) against the T-bar, ensuring that the smooth side faces the ceiling. Rotate the bracket clockwise until the adapter clips lock securely onto the T-Bar. Route the Ethernet cable through the ceiling tile space.
Step 2:
Ensure that the Ethernet cable supports PoE+. Connect the cable to the port on the back of the Firewalla Access Point 7 Ceiling (a). Replace the ceiling tiles removed in Step 3-1. Then, place the access point onto the mounting bracket. Rotate the unit clockwise until it locks securely into place.
