The Firewalla app is the main way to check on and configure your Firewalla box. However, if you're away from your phone or want a larger interface, you can run the Firewalla app on any MacOS device with an M series processor (M1, M2, M3, or M4).
If you're interested in controlling your Firewalla via desktop, check out our Managed Security Portal (Firewalla MSP), a web interface that can help you easily manage multiple Firewalla boxes.
Additionally, if you have iOS 18 and macOS 10.15 Sequoia, you can mirror and fully control your iPhone from your Mac using iPhone Mirroring.
1. Install the Firewalla app on your Mac
On your Mac, open up the App Store. Search for "Firewalla" and click the Get button to install the app (you may see a cloud icon instead of the Get button if you've installed the app before). Click Open once the app is done downloading.
2. Install the Early Access or Beta version of the app (optional)
If you are an Early Access or Beta user, download TestFlight (skip this step if you're using the Production version of the app). Then, install your version of the Firewalla app from TestFlight. You may get a warning that the previous version of the app will be uninstalled.
3. Enter your email
Just like in the mobile app, you'll need to enter an email. You can use the same email address. You'll then see a warning about notifications, which you can mute if needed.
4. Pair your boxes with your Mac app
Now, open up your mobile app. Tap on the box you'd like to have access to on your Mac, then tap Settings -> Advanced -> Allow Additional Pairing -> Additional Pairing. The app will then generate a QR code you can use to pair your box with your Mac app.
From your Mac app, tap the QR code scan icon in the top left corner.
If your Mac has a camera, you can use it to scan the QR code.
If you don't have a camera, you can use the iOS QR code reader to copy and paste your QR code number (to do this, your iPhone and your Mac clipboard need to be linked).
- Take a screenshot of the QR code on your phone.
- Open the screenshot in your Photos app. Long press the QR code, then tap Copy to copy the QR code license.
- On your Mac app, click the clipboard icon in the top right of the screen.
(If it shows 'invalid license', check if Apple Universal Clipboard is working properly. As an alternative, you can paste the content you copied in the last step into another app, such as Notes, and send it to your Mac. Then, copy it to your clipboard on your Mac and try again.) - Click Use This License.
Check that the box details are correct, then click Confirm to finish pairing.
You should see your box appear in your Mac app. Use the Mac app just like you'd use the mobile app.
Repeat this process for as many boxes as you'd like to access using your Mac.

you cannot install the beta or early access on the Mac TestFlight App. It will not let you.. Says for iOS only... Released version through App Store = Yes... Test Flight = No
You should be able to download early access and beta versions from TestFlight. What chip and macOS are you using now?
M3 and MacOS 15. Didn't work on MacOS 14 either. I have it installed but it is the App Store released version. Won't let me for TestFlight.
MacOS is 14 and 15 in beta. There is no 17 or 18 yet. Are you on iPad?
Sorry, doing to many things at one time..
M3 MacOS 14 and 15. Neither let me download Firewalla app in TestFlight. It shows it is there but says for IOS only. Just like the screenshot I posted.
What version of TestFlight are you using? Also, what does TestFlight show when you click "Incompatible on this Mac"?
Can you try again? there is a flag, we just enabled via apple appconnect, likely to help.
Yep, It I there now! Awesome, Thanks!
