Pre-Purchase Advice Would Be Appreciated

Hi Everyone,

I am contemplating purchasing a Purple Gigabit router.  I currently have an Orbi Mesh system in my house.  RBR50 Router/WiFi with a RBS50 and RBS40V satellites.  Unless I am missing something, from what I have ascertained from the Firewalla documentation,  I should be able to use the RBR50 in AP Mode with the connected satellites and it should be seamless. 

Am I missing something?

  Hi Ed,

  Yes, Orbi mesh should work just fine with Firewalla in Router Mode and the Orbi mesh router in AP mode. Here are some articles that may help:

  Ed -

  Yes, you have it exactly.  I'm using FW Gold with the Orbi Mesh (RBRE960 and RBSE960).  You will let the Firewalla do the routing, and the Orbi gets turned into APs.  You may find that you need to turn off the monitoring on the FW for the Orbi router and each satellite. This will not affect your network security, but you may encounter issues if you don't turn it off for those specific devices
