What is Firewalla MSP? 

Firewalla MSP is a Managed Security Portal designed for security and infosec professionals to manage multiple Firewalla boxes remotely. As a cloud-based management system, each management portal is an isolated container within the Firewalla Cloud, managed instance data will be fully isolated within this container.

    I just started using MSP.  It fits my model of very well with me serving as an MSP/consultant and the owner still able to use app. I look forward to looking at the model as it evolves.

    Also, I look forward to your changes that are already planned, but I am going to create 4 posts for a few things that can be better...

    Is switching from MSP back to non-MSP supported? Do you still use the FW app in MSP mode (or is it only web-based after you switch)?

    You still have to use the app for some things like network settings. And you can use the app and MSP at the same time to manage all aspects of the devices. I have been since the beta. There are some things only possible in the MSP when managing multiple devices.

    What you can’t do is use the local WebUI on the devices once they are enrolled in MSP.

    You can remove a box from MSP at any time if you need to switch back to the old web UI for some reason, and then add it back to MSP when you're done. There's not much need for that anymore, though, since they've added support for creating Target Lists to MSP.

    @Evan, you need to send email to help@firewalla.com to add new users. Hopefully the UI will have that function soon.

    We are redesigning the MSP dashboard, the first page you see when login. Is there anything that you really want to be on there? please let us know!

    Nice, much better!

    One request: 
    - Save the last selected box
    or
    - Allow to create a url including a specific device (e.g. ../#/dashboard?gid=yyyyyyyyyyy)

    When I try the latter, the gid= query gets lost after login.

    Next improvement: user selectable dashboard wide date range for graphs and tables? Or maybe per widget if they don't share a common data source? :)

    • Able to show the public IP address and MAC addresses of Ethernet ports and Wi-Fi interfaces on each box.
    • Fixed the issue of missing box information in alarms.

    Definitely would like this...could make it a wallboard in the office.  I particularly like the tiles labelled internet status, latency, and packet loss....and the speed.

    FYI, if you are on the older MSP and have not migrated, we are going to change the special plan and reduce the number of free trial month this coming weekend, 4/22/2023 

    If you don't migrate by 5/1/2023, we will assume you are not interested in the MSP and remove the instance.

    @Firewalla, I signed up last night and got an email saying my new portal was ready, but I'm getting nxdomain when I try to resolve it (and I've tried multiple upstream DNS).  Generally how long before the portal is spun up should the wait be before an A record is created?

    @Matt,

    You have an old MSP, so the subscription will be migrated to your old domain.

    Can you have a try to visit the old domain and see if it works? You should be able to see the subscription information in the top-right settings.
