Once we get more 2G DDR4 from the black market in Taipei, we are likely to build EU/UK version; likely Q2/Q3 2026

If you are interested in being a beta tester for Firewalla Orange, please fill out this survey! https://forms.gle/8Eu6Lhj2H4jCBSHU6

    • Users selected for beta will receive units earlier, likely around January 2026.
    • Beta selection process is weighted (based on your answer to our survey) and FIFO.
    • Orange beta units are the FINAL hardware, but will run BETA software.

If you cannot test Orange upon receiving it, please wait for the general release.

This process is to help us fine-tune logistics, software/features, and migration processes so that everything runs smoothly for the general release.

Thank you for the strong interest! The first pre-sale batch has sold out. We’re doing our best to secure additional DDR4 (2GB) memory and plan to resume the pre-sale in early to mid-January.

Please fill out this form, and we will notify you once we are ready.

So i was looking over the feature set and wondering if it supports WAN failover to using wifi connection as a secondary WAN?

I travel a lot and sometimes I cannot use an ethernet cable to plug in. Can I connect this to hotel or airbnb wifi like I can my GL.inet GL-A1300 pocket VPN travel router?

I ordered the orange as soon as the ordering window opened and it was in stock.  I received a notice that the order was confirmed, my credit card was charged and an expected date of receipt Dec 14th.  It never arrived. When I contacted customer service, I was told that it was on pre-order status and I would have to wait until the next batch arrived.  I do not understand why my order was confirmed, my credit card was charged and the unit was not shipped during several days while your web site still showed it was in stock. Customer service was not helpful in explaining what was going on. Very dissappointed in Firewalla.

Doesn't seem like you read the preorder instructions thoroughly.

I read the preorder instructions.  When my credit card was charged, I expected it to ship.  Otherwise, if it was to be delayed, my credit card should not have been charged until it was shipped.

It’s natural to get excited and rush to order quickly when you’re really looking forward to a product, but those details were on the community and the pre-sale order page. We often point fingers at others, which is easier than admitting we might all miss something.

Thanks for the info. I was perhaps too eager.  I misunderstood that these products are an early batch of pre-orders and that they sold out of the pre-orders, and they were not the actual orders. I have ordered the firewalla golds, the gold plus, the purple all on pre-order and it seemed different this time around.

I cannot say for sure, since I have not tested the orange.  However, I have tested the purple as a travel router as well as my GLinet and they both work for VPN, so it is likely the orange will work.  The orange should be much faster than the GLinet on VPN, although it is not clear the speed will matter much. The downside could be that the orange will use more power, which means when running on a battery, you will need to account for the added current draw.

I’m so excited. We currently run a Firewalla Purple with an AP7 and a Zyxel 10 port dumb switch off of our 500 MB Spectrum account and we have good coverage for 2K SqFt house. I’m anticipating upgrading our home internet to Gigabit speeds so the Orange looked like a great option. I’ll then retire our Purple to the Camper with a GL.iNet GL-SFT1200 in AP mode to take on trips and hopefully be able to use a VPN to link them so if we hook up to campground WiFI or hotspot from a phone we can keep everything secure. My home network will have over 60 devices as it does now and the camper less than a dozen devices so the purple will get a well deserved break when it goes to travel use. I’m excited to be able in the future to hopefully be able to separate the Orange and the AP7 and get the network coverage a bit wider at the house than it is. Hopefully migration from the Purple with the AP7 to the Orange with or without the AP7 will be seamless and easy. Thanks Firewalla for your continued adaptation and innovation to adjust with the needs of your customers if you have any tips to make the transition easier I’m all ears.

    FYI

    • The first beta shipment was done last week, and there were many orange activations over the weekend.
    • The second batch of beta units will be shipping today.
    • The last batch of beta units will ship next week.

We are still trying to find more affordable DDR4 memory pieces. Once we secure some, we will likely have a second pre-sale of the orange. (next week or the week after)
