Q: How do exclusions work for Category lists?

    You can look at the allowed list, this where all the exceptions are listed.

    The allow list is something you will need to add. see https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360008521833-Manage-Rules

    I know I could create one manually, but I was curious about removing a domain from a category list?

    Do you mean you want to permanently remove a site from say adult site, because the site is not adult. (example) or give exceptions?

    I mean if I create a rule - target - all gaming sites - info - view the domain list, and then from there select and then select and remove a domain from the list.
    What happens to that removed entry?

    These site lists are really large and dynamic, so there is no way to look inside of them.

    I know, but FW displays the domains it found in use, and you can remove a specific domain from that learned list (see screenshot). What happens to that removed domain?
