Sharing my Experience with Amplifi Alien Router
My original setup was using the Firewalla Gold as router with a QNAP QHora as a wifi access point. That was a true headache. It just didn't work for me. Devices connect to wifi but no data in many cases. At the end I ended up getting the Amplifi Alien and it worked like a charm. ZERO issues using it for its wifi. Firewalla Gold takes care of the rest.
Whole setup serves over 30 devices.
So if you need a Wifi6 that is reliable with PCs... Macs... iOS... Android... Consoles... IoT devices... the Amplifi Alien for wifi along with the Firewalla Gold as main router works PERFECT.
I have another Firewalla Gold serving another network at home which has a separate internet account.
Love my Firewalla(s)
p.s. Fan is NOT necessary at all... just keeping the Firewalla Gold cooooool :P

I have learned one thing when it comes to Mesh setups... no matter what you read or assume... the quality of connection varies widely. I had one Linksys setup at home... it was just not acceptable. I moved devices around... works "okay" but I just didn't accept any compromises.
I don't use my Alien as part of a mesh... but as a wireless access point... its very robust and the software is great.
Whatever you go with... just make sure the return policy... if it work for you.
And the Alien looks cool at night 😎... The lights have adjustable brightness and does have a night mode where it switches off the whole lighting from Time A to B (11pm to 7am for me)
