Family Control
I've turned on the Family item and insured the Features were all "on" to all devices.
I have a "Rule" that Blocks "All Porn Sites"... yet when I open a browser from a local PC or a Phone that is on the local network, the site for Playboy or Hustler, they are not blocked.
What am I missing?

If you are running in router mode on the Gold, and if you see adult content not blocking,
it may take a min for the system to learn, and then block will happen. The "adult block" inside the device view is IP-based, so it should block fairly quickly, but still, it may take time.
If the above not the case, best is just to open a case by sending an email to help@firewalla.com

I know this is an old thread, but was this ever resolved? I'm seeing similar behaviors with rules not working as they should. Blocking when they shouldn't, not blocking when they should.
Regarding the comment about the blocking being IP based, some companies may have many IP address over a broad range, or several ranges. With proxying occurring, there is no way to know what the IP address might be on a minute by minute basis.

Are you using the Gold? Blue? or Red? and in which mode? what kind of blocks are failing?
Some blocks are fairly simple, like porn. and some like 'tiktok' are impossible to block, since they use so many different proxies, but still can be done.
IP block is primarily used in the default mode when you are creating rules. The default mode will map (dynamically and does refresh) IP to domain relationships.

Gold in router mode. I'm blocking all internet for certain devices and allowing only domains that are needed. Even though some domains are not allowed, I see netflow allowing it on Firewalla. Even though a domain is allowed, I see netflow blocking it. Sometimes it blocks, sometimes it allows.
