45-60 second delay to access Firewalla app on IOS over local WIFI?
Hi!
I have a gold in bridge mode between my Unifi Dream Machine Pro and my main Unifi Switch. The unified switch has multiple access points and other unified switches connected to it. All unified devices are on "Infrastructure VLAN" and then I have other VLANs for main, sonos, iot, guest etc. I use the UDM-Pro for DHCP. The Firewalla has itself taken an IP on the first infrastructure VLAN - I do not know how to change this. Luckily I allow routing between main and infrastructure so I can access the Firewalla Box using the Firewalla App IOS app from my phone on main VLAN.
The problem is that it usually takes a long time (up to 60 seconds or so) to access the IOS app. The "waiting wheel" in the app is spinning and spinning... VERY ANNOYING.
When disconnecting wifi and accessing the app from external mobile network the waiting time is MUCH SHORTER . Maybe 5-7 seconds before data from Firewalla box is refreshed and "live"...
The wifi network is usually very fast. All access points are unifi with Gbit uplinks.
Any ideas on what is going on here and how this can be fixed?

Go to LTE first, and see if you are loading faster, if you are, then check your network, and make sure you don't have nested networks. For example, 10.0.0.0/24 -> 192.168.1.0/24 -> 10.0.0.0/24 network, and if your firewalla is at either end of this and your phone is another, it will likely cause the phone to timeout trying to connect to the wrong gateway.
Next, check and make sure you are not blocking firewalla servers. Here are the list https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4600829248403-Domains-used-by-Firewalla
If you are using OpenDNS, best disable their filtering, see https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/24559271667603-Firewalla-s-cloud-domain-is-blocked-by-OpenDNS
