The Auto-Configuration Wizard makes it easy to set up key features. By answering a few simple questions about your network, you can quickly configure:
- Smart Queue
- Data Usage Caps
- Network Quality Monitoring
- Security Features
Watch our video tutorial about using the Auto-Configuration Wizard.
Trigger the Auto-Configuration Wizard
To activate the Auto-Configuration Wizard, navigate to Features by tapping on the + icon at the bottom of your main page, then tap on Customize Now.
Input your Internet Speed
If your Internet speed is below 100 Mbps for uploads or downloads, the wizard will ask you if you'd like to activate Smart Queue to help you make your network more efficient. You can apply bandwidth limits and select what applications to prioritize. If your network is faster, you will not be prompted to turn on Smart Queue.
Add your Data Cap
If your Internet plan limits your data usage, you can set up a Data Cap so Firewalla can help you track when you're getting close to your limit.
Activate Network Quality Monitoring
Firewalla can help you gain insight into the quality of your network by running regular Internet speed tests and monitoring latency and packet loss. You can activate those features here.
Activate Security Features
On this page, you can activate:
- Active Protect Strict Mode– Active Protect is automatically enabled on your network, but turning on Strict Mode will give your network extra protection.
- Ad Block Strict Mode– Ad Block prevents ads from appearing or tracking your behavior. Strict Mode will block more ads but may prevent certain sites from working.
Review and Confirm your Changes
Lastly, the wizard will show you a confirmation screen with a list of all the configurations you've set for your network. Tap Done to save your changes.
You can come back to the wizard at any time, so you can easily respond to changes in your Internet plan or network environment. Additionally, any configurations you make through the Auto-Configuration Wizard can be changed in the app later.
