Purple Upload very slow problem
There are quite a numbers of report on Purple Upload slow (I have this problem since last fri), is there any resolution to it ?

- notebook direct to ISP modem speedtest.net 200M dl and 20M up
- Notebook connect to firewalla purple, 200M dl and upload is below 1M
- Reboot, upload slow problem persisted
- switch to beta program 1.50.115 (1118), right after changed to beta, upload still slow below 1mbps
https://www.speedtest.net/result/13570157543
- internal speed test http://192.168.xx.xx:8833/ss/ around 900M-1000Mbpps (lan connection)
- Internet browsing response very slow/not responsing, WFH video call not working / very bad quality
I am WFH, need to fix this asap as it is impacting my work

I don't believe this is true. See support case 58223 for reference.
On my replaced unit I would see regular speed tests from the firewalla come back fine, it was only speed tests from anything on the LAN network that would be horrid prior to forcing to 100mbit. Chokepoint seemed to be moving packets between LAN<>WAN - unsure if NAT related or not.
RMA of unit corrected. -
same upload problem on my Purple, it started 4 days ago, my isp connection is fiber 1G download and 500M upload.
whille connecting directly to my isp router a speedtest is always 1Gdown 500up. but through the Purple its 1Gdown but only 40M up and all the wifi devices get 0.7M upload is there an update coming tha will correct the problem or a workaround?

Very disappointed this morning where I have discovered I am being impacted by this issue again. Had the issue last year and all was fine after Firewalla swapped the device. Now 6 months later I am expereinceing the same issue again for the second tiime. I have looged another case but disappinted that the manufacturing issues had not been resolved.
Forcing the speed and duplex has once again improved the situation but it's still drastically reduced my network performance.

@Firewalla I have changed to 100Mb/s Full Duplex because this is how I got back working previoulsy and today. WIth the issue and the port set to auto I am getting such slow upload speeds I can't even connect to email. Forcing the speed and Dupled gets me at least 8Mb/s meaning I can work.
I assume you ae not familiar with this issue or the workarounds? And yet if you scroll back a few comments you posted the following one month ago:
"Recently we found a few issues that are related to QoS, so it may not be that dreaded upload problem.
If you force 100mbit and the problems go away, then it is for sure that issue. "

Oh, no. I got my replacement in October. This is, as far as I know, the first "non-early release" report of the issue. I wish Firewala would give some indication of how prevalent the issue is. On here and Reddit it seems like a lot, but maybe it was only a low % overall, and with the additional testing maybe it's mostly stopped, but my first purple went about 6 months and now I'm worried it'll happen again. They are great in replacing them, but I'd prefer not to!

Firewalla support had a look at my device remotely, made some changes to the device and were able to get it working again. Surprisingly the changes they made improved my throughput.
I am now waiting on a replacement device to arrive so that I can send back my current device for Analysis.
So it does not look to be the manufacturing issue but the symptoms were very similar. It might have been the QoS issue they also mentioned. With the device set to Autonegotation I was having sever upload throttling, the temporary measure was to set the WAN port to 100Mb/s Full Duplex.
Good support from the Firewalla team.

Did they give you any idea of what changes they made? This makes it seem as though it is not a hardware issue but software, and fixable with future patches.

At the moment I’m having the worst possible experience with Firewalla. I’ve been a customer for a long time and have purchased two, the Firewalla purple simply stopped working and support is slow and not effective.
I loved this product, but not anymore. Unfortunately I will have to trash this product.

Super unhappy to have to join this thread. I am WFH and burned a full day trying to make sense of this issue. It fits the description of all the reports I've read in this thread. I have 1 Gig fiber, download speeds are 850-950 Mbit, uploads are sometimes below 1 megabit, occasionally higher. Highly unreliable network stability. I've locked my switch port at 100 MB and issued the sudo command to lock the Firewalla LAN port to 100 full with no autoneg. This fixed the issue but makes overall network performance suck. I've opened a ticket, #64943. Do I need to do anything else? I need this resolved ASAP.

Class-Action Lawsuit anyone?
This defective batch of Firewalla Purples needs to be recalled. Both of mine that I bought in June 2022 have now had this same issue. The box keeps crashing, requiring a reboot, constant packet loss and upload speeds reduced by 50%.
I was able to get the first unit replaced with support ticket 57239. Now I can't get them to replace the 2nd defective unit in support ticket 64320. They are barely even replying to me.
I can't keep using this defective unit while I wait for support to "look into it". It's extremely disruptive to my entire household. This is negligence to have this many people suffering with a very obvious bad batch of units.

@DC Sorry about the late reply. Our support team is extremely busy on Monday's, but usually they should be able to reply back to you within 24 hours. If not, I'll give them a kick. (just checked the case, they been running some tests on your unit, they are not seen the issue, so they are waiting for another developer to take a look, I will make sure they reply to you before 22:00 PST)

@DC, Since not all upload issues are the same... in order not wasting your time (in case it is a configuration issue ... network issue), we always run our standard tests to identify the problem first. Normally we can do this once we get the remote access, and issue you a RMA immediately after.
In your case, as I am reading the case logs, they did the tests, and the performance tests passed, so they are waiting for another developer to take a look the system. Since today is Monday, cases do get backed up. I just called the developer, he will look after dinner.

Suddenly have the same issue. Upload speed from 300mps drops to 0.1mpbs, but Firewalla inside it, with internet test, has all the speed.
One year ago replaced my purple with same issue, and now again, quite frustrating, especially when you have a home office. Tickets reference #47016 #66782
Set to 100 did a trick, but this is so ;(
sudo ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off

I have the same issue. I wasted time trying to work the problem with the cable company to find out it was the Firewalla Purple. I submitted the issue a week ago and have not heard back. How long does it usually take to get a reply?

In my experience it should be much shorter than that. I think it was less than 24hrs. It took another 2 days for them to request/get access and to it, and then they told me to send them the defective one. One I sent them the shipping confirmation of the old one they shipped a replacement. All together, it was maybe 10 days from issue to replacement for me.
