Pre-purchase advice appreciated
Hi All,
Two things ...
1. I'm currently using a 300Mbps ISP service from Spectrum. The Blue Plus will handle this fine but if/when I upgrade TVs and computer monitors to 4K and want to do 4K streaming, I think I'll need up to 1 Gbps ISP service, also available from Spectrum. Sooo, guess I should just get the Firewalla Purple now and be done with it, correct?
2. As mentioned above, Spectrum is my ISP and am using their modem and Sagemcom Fast 5260 dual-band router. Is the process of installing, configuring, and operating a firewalla device between their modem and router transparent to the ISP or will they need to be involved in the process?
Thanks for your advice,
Todd Killian

I agree with beachdog - 4k TV would be ~25Mbps each, so speed wise, you're fine. Even for gaming where the latency would probably be more important, speed updates won't change that. The exception being the time to download big games/updates, but that's only an occasional benefit, so not worth it to me.
Purple does have the advantage of being able to do VLANs and run in router mode, but if you are not going to use that, I'd stick with the Blue.
