Hotel WISP & MAC address

Perhaps it's somewhere in the docs but maybe worth updating to suggest as a last resort a MAC address from a device that has already got past the captive portal to allow the purple to access.

In Marriot AC Downtown NYC and for some reason cannot get a browser to show the captive portal via the purple.

What I did in the end was take a MAC address from a already registered iPhone with Private Wifi address to give a random MAC address then used this in the purple settings and all connected. Then with the iPhone on the purple turn off the Private address to stop 2 devices with the same MAC address.

  As for your problem, do you remember if DoH was on? DoH may prevent the captive portal to pop

  Yes DoH was on. In a different hotel I tried with DoH off and allowed me to see the captive portal but for some reason couldn't get past. So did the change of MAC address.

  One thing that would be handy would be for the MAC address in the network settings to be a choice in the manner how you show the networks to connect too. Currently using in the office and hotel and so switching back and forth between 2 MAC addresses on a daily basis.
