FWG: Wi-Fi from AP stays connected, but frequently drops internet connection
Hi Everyone,
FWG owner for about 1 year now. Very please with its overall benefits and ease of use.
Over the past 6 months, I have been getting numerous internet drop-outs at the house when on Wi-Fi. The devices remain connected to the network, but there's no internet outbound. This intermittent internet cycle occurs at random times, lasts about 10 mins, then "fixes" itself without any action.
Yesterday, I replaced my existing router(AP) which was about 5 years old, a Netgear Ac1900, with a brand new monster ASUS Rog AXE16000. Still having the same issue!!! The internet speed, ping, packet loss is perfect.
Prior to connecting the FWG, we never had any of these issues. So I definitely need your help here!
Details:
ISP: Spectrum 400mbps
Modem: Netgear C700
AP: Asus AXE16000
Wi-Fi Coverage and Signal: Maxed out, full strength signal
FWG in router mode

Please see this article on some quick diags https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053534593-How-to-debug-network-connectivity-issues-
We are also aware there is an issue where ISP will change your IPv6 prefix, not sure if the problem is spectrum or not, and that will cause some sites to down. Try to turn off ipv6 and see if things gets better, if it is, then please let me know.

this afternoon, i have now also replaced my existing modem (netgear c700) with a brand new NetGear CM2000.
I also replaced the cat6 cables with ones i checked hardwired on another network.Same issue already appearing.
When checking the GUI of the Asus AXE16000 router, I do not see the ability yet to disable ipv6.

How is your network laid out? is your Asus in AP mode? if it is, then you will need to disable IPv6 on the Firewalla. (you can do this, tap network, tap on WAN segment, tap on top right edit, and then change ipv6 settings.
Also, when your network is down, can you ping 1.1.1.1? can you ping firewalla's LAN interface (or your default gateway)? https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053534593-How-to-debug-network-connectivity-issues-

Unfortunately, it did not help.
I'll leave ipv6 off for now.
I found some similar posts of concern and people have reported that flashing the FWG is the fix for this.
I have completed the flash and will test over the next day. So far, I've been online for 3hrs with no internet drops

Flashed it and so far, it's still perfect.
2 or 3 devices still gave me some trouble after the flash process. Reserving IP addresses in FWG for those devices fixed it.
Also, the problem devices had MAC randomization on. Turning that off, combined with reserving the IP for each device seems to have fixed the internet issue
Any thoughts on that?

Best go over this article https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053534593-How-do-I-debug-network-connectivity-issues it has many ways to check where the problem can be.
1. WiFi
2. Firewalla (or your router)
3. WAN
The most common problem is either the ethernet cable, or if your internet is just a few site down, they may be related to rules you installed
