False alert - Porn – Firewalla

I have a FW Gold for the last two weeks. Really liking the features so far.

Very oddly, I received an alert that one of my children's devices was accessing porn. The child in question was not home and their device was lying unused for the past many hours to the ponit when the alert came through.

I have read the other related threads where there are reports of false gaming alerts, but no one seems to have reported a false porn alert. DHCP lease times are default and FWG handles all that - so I would expect FWG to know which device (in case if it is a mix up).

Is there a way to figure out if another device was actually the offender while the wrong device got the blame?>

First, false positives does happen; so please check the site in the alarm and see if it is normal. Also, a good thing to check is how much transfer (tapping into the alarm) was done, it is <1Megabytes, it is likely just a adult ad or something like lit.

So do we tag it as false positive even if, as you have said, an adult ad appeared?

You can do either way. We'll do cross checks on the feedbacks.

We may add an alarm sensitivity features in the future that may suppress adult ads alarms when sensitivity is configured to low.
