Smart queue for all devices function.
Wondering if someone can help with how a smart queue should function.
I have a firewalla purple and I have a smart queue in static mode and FQ_Codel.
I'm using a rule that is matching "traffic from & to internet" and on "All device". I set a default priority and set an upload and download limit of 5Mbps.
In testing, I sometimes get a global 5Mbps cap (the desired function). But other times when I test, each device seems to get its own 5Mbps which collectively over 10 devices is 50Mb
How should it function? And any clues why my current rule is hit or miss? My use case is pretty corner case so I get enforcing a hard limit when more bandwidth is available is not common. But this use case has a pay per Mb metered line even though the line itself is much faster.

Hi Mtjas White, for Smart Queue rules that target All Devices or Device Groups, the bandwidth limit is shared/aggregated across all devices.
Do you happen to have other Smart Queue rules? If there is a conflict, other Smart Queue rules may take priority. For more details, see: https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056976594-Firewalla-Feature-Smart-Queue#h_01H2TV3XSRDMYTBFV6GJ4P0BE6

Yup, exactly...tho I'm only testing with 6 at time cause thats how many people work in my area. But we can see on the internet link stats from the ISP the "max" download speed which confirms what we see in our test, that it sometimes is way over the 5Mb we set.
These devices can also be offline for a week or so at time so I also had a theory that perhaps when it first comes up, it needs to get its policy from our MSP console and might not be enforced right away...but testing hasnt proven that out.
