Pretty sure you can’t do that with Blue Plus. You need VLAN/network segmentation (available on Purple and Gold).

Don't they physically separate? I was hoping there might be a software way.

Blue Plus doesn't understand segments. You can use the Purple + VLAN, or Gold + (port or VLAN segmentation)

Ok, that's a bit disappointing. For my understanding, what's different about the others that allows them to?

Not related to the Firewalla, but depending on your router, you can still segment the work laptop and guests via a VLAN. If you are connecting wirelessly (or wired) the router would need to support it, and as mentioned the Blue+ doesn't understand segments, so you'd be isolating them from the Blue+ as well.

I think VLAN/segmentation capabilities are only available via routers and switches. The more advanced Gold and Purple have “router mode” (the recommended mode) where the others like Blue aren’t designed to perform the routing or switching in a network.

Is the hardware not capable of it in some way, or is it just kept out of the software?

The device that hands out IP addresses (your router) has to create the VLANs. The software has the capability as it's the same software on purple and gold, but the device needs to be set up as the router to use it.
