AP7C outdoors sort of :)
I'm working on some new construction and I'm planning my network cable runs. I wanted to have an access point outside. I was wondering if there would be any issues putting an APC7 under the awning below near where the red dot is located?

I live in the northwest of the Pacific Northwest USA. We have rainy but relatively mild winters and mild summers. So I have AP’s “outdoors” in areas protected from the rain and direct sun, but not in air conditioned space (no heat or air conditioning). The AP’s work great to cover over 2.5 acres of land.
So I think it depends on if where you live is within the operating temperature envelope the AP7C (or AP7) is designed for. -
The point above is exactly right. If you are in an area where you can stay within the operating temperature guidelines in the specifications document, you should be fine.
Specifically 23f - 104f and under 95% humidity.

I live in the east bay of San Francisco. Its normally pretty dry here. Though we do have a rainy season. But I wouldn't imagine it's more humid than the PNW. The summers here are pretty mild outside of direct sunlight. Under the awning it should be good.
I wonder do you folks have any thoughts on how far to place it from the edge?

Yeah, I want to do exactly this, but where I live, it can easily get below 23 in the winter and occasionally above 104 in the summer. I'm curious - it makes sense to me that you could damage it with excessive heat, but what is the lower-bound temperature for? Can you really damage the unit by operating it in temps that are too cold, or does it just not perform as well?

If the unit dips below operating temperature, no one for sure if it will run, or how long it will stay that way. But, from pure silicon perspective, the unit will get warm (wifi 7 is hot), but a cold cold start may be an issue;
Best is still follow the spec and not run the unit beyond the low/high temperature range.
