If you are running in router mode already (I assume you are), you can just take this unit and plug into the T-Mobile 5G (I assume it is DHCP). Then you really don't need to reconfigure everything ... they should all work

    I was told the T-Mobile 5g router doesn't allow bypass/pass through/bridge mode.  Doesn't that mean they'll be double NAT'd?

Depends on your configuration, if you really don't like the double NAT, firewalla gold also supports bridge mode. https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500012304202-Firewalla-Transparent-Bridge-Mode

Sorry, just recently saw your post. I've used Firewalla Blue Plus for almost 2 years with T-Mobile 5g with no issues. I just plugged my TP-Link Router into the T Mobile Nokia router and turned off Wi Fi on the T-Mobile router. You can check, on YouTube, the Nater Tater channel. He has done great work with ALL the T Mobile routers and explains how to turn off wifi on each model. I did change the MTU (Packet size) to 1420 which many have said to do on my TP-Link AX21 router. I presently have it in simple mode utilizing my TP-Link router. Just ordered the new Purple SE and will try using Router mode with Firewalla when it arrives. Best of luck

    A question for Tony Atta:

I am needing to use a similar setup to yours, but I have VLAN's for both Ethernet and WiFi devices off of my existing router config.

How has the Purple SE worked out with the T Mobile Home Internet Gateway?

How did you set it up?  What mode etc. etc.

    Thanks for the feedback.

The Firewalla Purple SE is working GREAT! No problems in ROUTER mode which I've been using for over a month. Router mode is definitely the way to go with fewer issues and conflicts. Now concerning T-Mobile home internet - the most important thing you want to do is utilize your OWN router by plugging in an ethernet wire from the back of the T- Mobile gateway to your router. VERY IMPORTANT is to turn off the WIFI on the T-Mobile gateway. I have a Nokia T-Mobile router and it was simple to turn off the wifi, however, on the other two gateways that T-Mobile uses it's more difficult. As I previously stated, it's best to go to the Nater Tater channel on Youtube where he has excellent tutorials with scripts to help you. It will take less than 15 minutes tops.

I have also utilized MOCA adapters in order to use my old cable wiring and turn those old connections into ethernet.  As you'll realize the placement of the T Mobile gateway, in order to get a good signal, is not usually in an ideal location. By utilizing the MoCA adapters, I have my T-Mobile gateway in my family room and plugged into a Moca adapter which is then plugged into an existing Cable connector. Now I have my own router (TP-Link WiFi 6 E) centrally located in my home and plugged into that room's cable connector with another Moca adapter. I have turned my TP-Link router into an access point and use the Firewalla SE as my main router.

Hope that helps you out. The most important aspect is to install the Firewalla Purple SE in router mode.

    Good Luck

As an afterthought, The new Firewalla purple SE also has a bridge mode if that will be less of a hassle for you with those Vlans you have, however again, the Router Mode is the best with more functionality and fewer conflicts
