Note that I am in a remote part of thenUK and, as soon as I start any process, I’ll loose any WiFi, internet or phone so it’s bloody awefull trying to set anything up. I turned of the router within Starlink, put he cables between Starlink and Firewalla and nothing!!!! I get no internet whatsoever. So today reversed it all to reach out. Please Laos note I am not a network guy…..so any help, photos or diagrams and a process to step through would be appreciAted. Many thanks

Okay….my Starlink hub has both a router and acts as the provider of internet to my house. If I want to use a third party router, I need to disable the Starlink router (using bypass mode). This then should allow me to use the Firewalla as a router BUT connecting the Firewalla to my Starlink box does NOT allow me to access the internet. I am asking for someone’s help to diagnose how to setup Starlink (in bypass mode) with my Firewalla Gold. Note that as soon as I do this I will have NO access to the internet (even through my phone) due to poor phone signal in my area.

Have you tried to run starlink as a router and firewalla also in a router? does it work? if it does, then your problem is on the starlink side

Yes……but it is suggested that you need to run Starlink in “bypass” mode which effectively turns of the Starlink router and the Firewalla becomes the router…..but when setup an connecting to the Firewalla, I get no access to the internet.

My post is to identify the issue. If you can run firewalla in router mode under starlink router mode, and it works. And you turn starlink into bypass mode and it doesn't work, the problem is starlink, you will have to contact them

No…..you misunderstand. The Firewalla works in terms that it is on and available but will not act as a router. I can communicate with it etc. from others in this forum I understood that you need to put Starlink into bypass mode which, when I do, gives me nothing. I have googled it and I am told the same. What does Firewalla suggest. Is there an agreed op model that any of us with Starlink should use? What should the design be? Should we leave Starlink with its in built router “on” and simply attached the Firewalla to the port on Starlink and then connect all devices to the Firewalla? I just need to know how Firewalla suggest setting this up. Thanks

    The best way is

Starlink in brdge/modem/bypass mode -> firewalla in router mode -> Wifi

And if you can only get starlink in router mode

starlink in router mode -> firewalla in router mode -> wifi

Or you can try this too

Starlink in router mode -> firewalla in bridge mode -> wifi

Hi Gary D, here's how to switch to Bridge Mode:

    1. Go to your Firewalla's Main Screen.
    2. Scroll down and tap More → Mode.
    3. Tap on your current Firewalla Mode (e.g., Router Mode).
    4. Select Bridge Mode and follow the guide to complete the switch.
