Hi, I have my fw gold se connected as a router to orbi mesh 6 ( 1+2), also working in router mode, there is no problem with WiFi connection to my devices, when I use my mesh in AP, it doesn’t work well, I get many connections drops especially from top floor hub. I know about double nat, but router mode is the best fix for connections issues, my question is there any fix for this issue ( using mesh as AP not working well) , will FW still protect devices that are connected to Orbi by WiFi? By filtering traffic to main Orbi IP address? Thanks

  Check orbi's documentation. Make sure you wired the units according to their spec. (for example, eero requires all child unit to be wired to the master unit, not sure if orbi does the same)

  Will Firewalla work as a firewall in my mentioned configuration? I want it to be between my modem and Orbi which will handle only WiFi connections. And I have other devices connected via Ethernet to a switch connected to Firewalla.

  Firewalla needs to be in router mode in your described setup. Yes, it will be able to protect your WiFi even if Orbi functions in router mode. The only problem is there will be double NAT and you won't see each WiFi client device individually, so losing the ability to create customized rules for each of them. You can only apply rules to your Orbi device. We'd suggest figure out how to make Orbi run in AP mode. 
  
  Ethernet device behind Firewalla can also be protected.

  I have a similar installation except my mesh is a Linksys MX4200 in bridge mode. I originally connected the Linksys from one of its LAN ports to the Firewalla Gold SE at port 3 and couldn't get it to work. I finally connected the  Firewalla Gold SE port 3 to my Linksys WAN port and everything works fine.
