Firewalla bridge mode hates Unifi
I’ve been experiencing a persistent issue when adding Firewalla to my UniFi network in bridge mode. As soon as Firewalla is introduced, the entire network becomes unstable. UniFi has difficulty adopting switches and access points—some fail to adopt entirely. Even when I manage to get certain devices online, Firewalla blocks several of my IoT devices from connecting regardless of the configuration changes I make.
I ultimately had to remove Firewalla from the network to restore functionality. I would prefer to keep it integrated, but at the moment it renders the network unusable.
Is anyone using UniFi who has successfully deployed Firewalla in bridge mode without these problems?
I’m considering resetting everything to factory defaults to see if that resolves the issue, though that would be a major inconvenience given the number of devices on my network.
If anyone has suggestions or has encountered something similar, I’d appreciate your insight.
For reference, my current setup is:
Dream Machine Pro connected to Firewalla’s WAN port, UniFi switch connected to Firewalla port 1, Firewalla in bridge mode, and a DNS rule directing UniFi to resolve through the DMP.
