Your Gold Plus should be able to handle your new speed, are you getting something lower? What are you getting?

I'm going from 1Gb copper to 500Mb fibre. Usage analysis shows me I don't really need the 1Gb connection due to a limited number of connected devices, the speed of their adapters, and the usage profiles, etc. I'm trying to save a bit of money. I was an early adopter. I have two Golds, an original Gold 1Gb, and a Gold Plus 2.5Gb. I'm still a Big Fan!

This thread concerns a future switch to a new ISP. I am asking about the PPPoE setup/configuration on the Gold Plus to achieve maximum performance. Please review my original post for the details.

I'm not complaining about performance. I will be switching to PPPoE 500Mb fibre next week. I'm asking about configuration to ensure the switchover is seamless when it happens, later.

    Do you have any advice?

    Thanks for looking in!!!

You should be good, when you're switching the new WAN, you can change the network manager settings via bluetooth on your phone to Firewalla (make sure red dongle is securely attached on box). No additional configurations is required to achieve maximum performance.

You can follow steps in Speed Tests and Speed Optimization with Firewalla to check your speed.

Feel free to reach out help@firewalla.com if you encounter any issues.

My new ONT and fibre Internet Connection are up! I am connected to the Internet!

The ONT is connected directly to the Gold Plus. This new Subscriber Line is rated at 500Mb/s and uses the PPPoE Protocol to link.

With the Firewalla App's default Internet Speed Test Targets:

    Download: 476.16 Mb/s

    Upload: 535.09 Mb/s

I assume these are good results, given PPPoE overhead and test targets?
