If you want to set up Purple in router mode, you need a separate AP to provide wifi network. Because Verizon Gateway's Wifi can't be monitored by Purple under router mode, if Verizon Gateway is the upstream of Purple

We'd suggest turning Verizon Gateway into bridge/IP passthrough mode, so it acts as modem only. You can connect as:Verizon Gateway -> Purple -> WiFi AP/switch/other devices

Let me see if I get this right, if I want to set up router mode for him and enable ip pass through mode so the gateway can act like a modem itself, which means it won’t work as WiFi, but act a modem so I have to setup an any access point such as Linksys? Will that work?

With purple do I have to connect purple>>linksys>>yellow internet box>> then change Linksys into bridge mode and set Firewalla into router mode?

Check Switching from Simple/DHCP Mode to Router Mode (Gold/Purple) to see if it's helpful.

Yes, let the gateway be modem only, and use any access point for WiFi behind Purple. The connection is Modem(Verizon gateway in passthrough) -> WAN port [Purple router mode] LAN port -> Linksys (AP mode)

Perfect, thank you so much, I will look into it, if I run into problems, I’ll rush back here. Thank you again.
