We don't have enough demand from Canada (via our survey) comparing to EU/UK region; we can't even hit the bare minimum to start the expensive certification process + and hard to make the minimum build requirement.

We only ship to the USA at the moment. (And also EU, if you get the international version)

I don't think anyone from Firewalla can encourage you to ship to the US and then bring it over the border yourself. I think there are liability issues with that. There is of course nothing really stopping you from doing that.

If I use the American AP7 in Canada, is there any issue pls?

Are there different standards between US and Canada please?

    Thanks.

Fhjfong First, you shouldn't be running the unit in Canada; it is not certified there. If somehow you took this unit to Canada, the unit will run all the blessed FCC frequencies rather than Canadian blessed ones.

When was the survey done?...I've never seen one. Your products are getting more popular. Perhaps it can be ran again at some point?

I guess the issue is bigger than a simple certification eh...as in, transmission frequencies would have to be modified and thus the "minimum build requirement"

Guessing we won't see the new Orange in CAN anytime soon then either :(

@firewalla I see that old survey link and the survey is closed. I for one am a Canadian who would have already bought the AP7. Given that the survey is closed, where can Canadians log requests for the AP7 so that you guys can have the business justification for certifying

Can you check if Canada allow individuals to import FCC/CE certified units (with the option to select Canada as the operating country? if your country allows this, you can just buy the CE version. (someone told us about Singapore allows this)

Let me get the old survey up

Short answer is no. Can't legally import or operate any radio device into Canada without ISED approval. Since it already has FCC and CE certification, they recommend collecting the existing FCC + CE package (test reports, grants/certs, exhibits, antenna info, software/region control description), and have a test lab / certification body run a “delta assessment” against:
    RSS-Gen + RSS-102
    RSS-247 for 2.4/5
    RSS-248 for 6 GHz
    ICES-003 for EMC
Expect at least RSS-248 + RSS-102 work unless the existing dossier already includes Canada-targeted testing.

Funny thing is that there any tons of vendors selling wifi, cellular, and other radio products on Amazon canada that are not ICES certified.

Maybe we just need to find a shady third party retailer to resolve Firewalla of any potential export/import liability. Lol.

If your country does allow personal imports of CE/FCC certified wifi routers, then you can just do that. The AP7 world version should already have different country frequencies

Ok. Assuming they do, would you actually ship the world version directly to Canada or how would that work?
