My Home configuration - Any concerns -before i install
I am considering getting a firewalla Gold Firewall and thought I would post to this group to get feedback before I order it and share my device configuration to see if anyone has concerns before I order
Here is the list of products I have / Use
Xfinity XFi 1 gigabit model acting as a router with DHCP
Orbi RBR850 Mesh wi-fi and Satellite in Bridge mode
Lorex 8 channel Seurity Camera
Ring Cameras
HomeBridge with the following plug ins
- Camera Ffmpeg Bridge
- GSH
- LG Thinq Bridge
- Midea Air Bridge
- Omnilink Platform Bridge
- Ring Bridge
- Wemo Bridge
- MyQ Bridge
NordVPN on Multiple devices
To ease installation, I would insert the router behind my Xfinity Router and keep my Xfinity as the router. I am doing this as I have many IOT devices, and I really don’t want to reconfigure all the devices with new IP address on the network. The firewall device would be in Bridge mode just like my Obi’s are. I want to use my NordVPN client to set up a vpn client on the firewalla.
HomeKit is my primary tool to access my lights and monitor windows and doors. Do you have any concerns about this setup with Firewalla?

Now an old post. How did you go with this?
I'm guessing you'll get more/easier control of your network with Firewalla as the router. The IP address pool doesn't need to change, although I recently went to the trouble of moving all my IoT devices that I don't trust onto a separate VLAN and SSID, re-registering each one with a new IP subnet. Unfortunately you need an Orbi Pro to do this.
Are you running HomeBridge in a Docker container on the Firewalla? I'm interested in how much CPU is used for homebridge-camera-ffmpeg, and whether installing ffmpeg stuffs up Firewalla. I want to use homebridge-camera-swann, which is a fork of homebridge-camera-ffmpeg, but chickened out because I don't want it to stuff up my Firewalla functionality. Also worried about CPU load for multiple cameras.
