Firewalla (Gold) and Synology Quickconnect
I ran into some puzzling behavior with my Firewalla and my Synology NAS this week.
Before installing the Firewalla, I was using a Ubiquiti Security Gateway (USG3). Zero issues or configuration changes on the Synology while swapping out firewalls (Firewalla Gold for the USG3).
After installing the Firewalla, the Synology Quickconnect service would always fail. I stopped / restarted the service on my NAS. When attempting to restart I received a generic message on the NAS to the effect of "check your network and DNS settings". The Firewalla had no logs of blocked flows.
I'll continue to monitor this over the next few days.
I then granted the device emergency access and quickconnect fired right up. Afterwards, I turned emergency access off for the NAS and the service has remained active. I can still access services via the quickconnect service.
Update: 24 hours later and I can no longer connect via QC. I've made no configuration changes on either my firewall or NAS configuration.

I just received and installed a Firewalla Purple and am also having problems using Synology Quickconnect to connect to my NAS. I got the message on the NAS that it was unable to reapply port forwarding rules and to please restart UPnP/NatPmP protocol on the router. I obviously could use help in getting it to work.

I didn't mess with UPNP configuration as Firewalla isn't currently in the supported Firewalls list.
Instead try the following:
- Enable emergency access for your NAS from the Firewalla app
- Enable Quickconnect on your NAS (it should fireup)
- Disable emergency access from the Firewalla app
