Port Forwarding and Allow on Firewall
Needed some help to understand the "Allow on firewall". I want to setup a port forward of 445 to device 192.168.2.4. I went to the device, ports, add port forwarding.
Selected TCP, put 445 for external port, 445 for internal port. Now this is where i am confused. I have seen posts that say do not enable "Allow on Firewall". However when I dont enable that, the port remains closed externally when I use a port checker tool. The port only shows open when I enable this option.
Can you clarify what this option is for and when would I use it? Seems like I need this on for the port to be open. I am working with the other device company and they are saying the port is not open which is why the device is having problems. I had this not selected before.
