Questions about using Firewalla with ASUS XT9 mesh - limitations, caveats, rants, raves.
I have some questions about using Firewalla with ASUS XT9 mesh (2 units, wireless backhaul). I would be using the Firewalla in router mode and the XT9 in AP mode. I use separate SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
Questions:
Can I still assign devices to 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz using the separate SSID on the XT9?
Can I still prioritize WiFi devices on the XT9?
Can I still connect wired devices to the satellite XT9?
What ASUS XT9 functionality (besides routing of course) do I lose with the XT9 in AP mode?
Do I get complete Firewalla features/controls for devices on the satellite XT9?
Will the Firewalla parental controls work across all devices connected wireless/wired to both XT9s?

When you are running the Asus in AP mode, all the layer 2 or WiFi features are not a function of the Firewalla. This is something you will have to lookup or ask Asus support.
If you are running the Firewalla in router mode, all firewalla router mode features will be there, it really doesn't matter what AP you use. (except, if you use firewalla AP7, then you will get a bunch more features)
(same answer for parental control features, they will all there, regardless of what AP you use)

After the time limit is reached, traffic to the specified app for that user will be silently blocked. No warning is sent.
More details on users and time limits can be found here: https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/23857921094675-Firewalla-Feature-Users#h_01HXZ6PY1M4T39CR1YBP5ZMNTT
