Suggestion: AP7 Optimize Wi-Fi Experience Tracking
Hello,
I just installed my two AP7's and performance was and still is excellent. Last night I decided to try the "Optimize Wi-Fi Experience" function. My wi-fi speed decreased. In retrospect, I should have copied the current settings before executing. Suggest providing some way to provide Channel and power settings for Each Band on Each AP.
If historical or default settings are available, please let me know how to retrieve them so I can test against current settings.
Thank you

My roaming appears fine and functional. But WiFi speed has changed since yesterday. Only change was running the Optimization function. My failure was not writing down the previous settings. Speed still good but not as great.
I use a similar option available on current Omada infrastructure, it works great, allows user to accept results and make changes or not. Also logs the new settings and keeps a history of the prior settings. Note to self, take pics for each AP’s band settings.Edit: @Todd Dukeshier, My experience is great as well and no doubt FW team will work out any real issues

Optimization function simply trying to place your device to the right AP. It doesn't do anything with power and channel. If you do find wifi slower at certain times, it can be as simple as that channel is being used by a neighbor, or some one local is transmitting a lot of traffic.
The "beta" AP code has some optimizations, not sure if it will be helpful, you can tap on wifi -> access point->your access point->tap on version and change to beta

I misinterpreted the "Optimization Function", didn't realize it was really a refresh connection.
I'm transitioning from an Omada based system and their Optimization Algorithm would test and change control parameters of the AP's ( channels and power or just channel), it was very effective. I thought the FW Optimization did the same. Good news is that my settings didn't change, same as the default.
I would suggest considering a similar form of Omada like Optimization algorithm.
Thank you
