Purple with AP7 Feedback and Questions
**Topology:** ISP Cable Modem (1 Gbps/1 Gbps) > Purple > Unmanaged Switch (1 Gbps) > AP7
1. **LED Indicator:** I’d like the option to disable the LED when the AP7 is functioning normally and only show a light when there’s an issue.
2. **Local Flows Default:** When I click "Local Flows," it defaults to a random hour from yesterday. Can this be updated to default to the current hour or the last 24 hours?
3. **Port Speed in Settings:** When I check the settings for my AP7, it shows a port speed of 1 Gbps, even though the WAN is connected to a 2.5 Gbps port. Is this because it detects that my router and switch can only handle 1 Gbps?
4. **WPA2/WPA3 Devices:** Is there a way to see which devices are connected via WPA2 versus WPA3?
5. **Automatic Updates:** I noticed the AP7 updates automatically overnight, which works great for me. However, an option to choose the update time would be appreciated by others.
6. **Offline Device Reporting:** It takes a few minutes for a device to show as offline in the Firewalla app. In comparison, the eero app shows devices in real-time. Can this be improved?
7. **WiFi Test Pause:** When I paused the WiFi Test, it disappeared from the main screen and came back later, which was a bit confusing.
8. **VqLAN & Device Isolation:** If I enable VqLAN and Device Isolation for a device on the AP7, will that device be unable to communicate with any other device, whether on WiFi or Ethernet? I only have one main LAN with devices grouped, no VLANs.
9. **Isolating Devices:** I have a "Work Devices" group with VqLAN and Device Isolation enabled, along with a rule to block traffic to/from all local networks. Can these devices still communicate with other devices on my LAN, or does this setup fully isolate them?
10. **Device Filtering View:** I liked the device filtering in the eero app. Is it possible to have an option where each device appears on a single line, with an icon for device type, name, and a symbol indicating whether it’s connected via WiFi or Ethernet? This would make it easier to quickly see which devices are online.
11. **Wi-Fi Active Indicator:**You could add the blue dot to the Wi-Fi option on the main app screen to indicate that an active Wi-Fi setup is in place, similar to how other options are marked with blue dots.

1. We will have the option to disable LED in later app updates.
2. Local flow time details is depend on where you tap on the chart. If you tap on say around 4pm, it will bring up 4pm
3. Port speed is the physical connection speed that your AP7 is connected to. Since everything in your LAN is 1gigabit, it really doesn't matter where you connect the AP7, it will be 1gbit
4. No
5. Controller updates are automatic. If the updates have downtime, we may add a manual update in the future.
6. Offline is very hard to detect, it is related to IoT going to sleep. So it will not be accurate. This is a firewalla box issue.
7. can you send a screenshot of this to help@firewalla.com
8. VqLAN and isolation will prevent devices from communicating out and in. So weather ethernet or WiFi will be blocked.
9. They can't, isolation = blocked off LAN + WAN
10. Tap on devices, tap on top right sort icon and see if you can get your desired filtering. The device view with table is only on the web interface.
11. Will ask our designer to take a look
