AP7 device connection between AP's

If there are multiple AP's connected together, either wired or wireless, and a device moves around the house (like a laptop or phone) will it stay connected to just one AP, or will it automatically switch between them to get the best signal? Current smart mesh (Plume) does this, but all traffic stops if the Internet connection goes down. The AP7's from your description should keep local traffic working in that case.

  1, When you move around, you will roam between the meshed units (AP's)

  2. If internet goes down, LAN/AP are not down. The AP controller is inside your Firewalla, so you get local control

  Is there a feature that will allow the forcing of a device to connect to a specific access point? This is through "access point steering" or "router steering". If this is not an option (which is some opinions is not the best way to manage clients connecting to the particular access point) then two other features should be considered;

  1. Ability to manage the power level(broadcast range) output of each access point and specifically each band

  2. The ability to create separate SSIDs and assign them to specific access points
