ios18.2 - Siri and ChatGPT integration blocked

Hi there - I've just updated my iPhone to ios18.2 which supports Apple Intelligence and ChatGPT integrating with Siri. I couldn't get it to work. (For clarity I should say that the ChatGPT app works fine, but Siri's integration with ChatGPT wouldn't). Eventually I wondered if my firewalla box was stopping something, so put my phone on emergency access mode and it started working fine. I've narrowed it down to blocking DOH - and if I turn that block off then it's ok.  But I'm not sure I want to do that - won't that make it easy for e.g. my son to bypass the blocks I've got in place?  I'll be very grateful for any help.

  Are you running VPN? I do notice yesterday during the first of the 18.2 launch, chatgpt was down, could it be related to that?

  Thanks. No I’m not running a vpn. And I had assumed that too (about ChatGPT being down yesterday) but the problem persists today, and goes away when I turn on emergency access so I’m fairly sure it’s to do with Firewalla blocking the way Siri talks to ChatGPT.

  Do you have DoH block? see if you can diable that and see if it works.

  You mean disable it into Family protect right?

  Seems like you also need to disable apple private relay else mail doesn't work anymore.
  With these two disabled it seems to work but more testing is required

  Seems like also mail is now using mask.apple-dns.net so need to allow that one as well

  What's working for me - although this is very much a workaround rather than a solution - is to have 3 'allow' rules relating to my user (I am the only one with an iPhone 16 Pro at the moment):

  mask-h2.icloud.com
  mask.icloud.com
  mask-api.icloud.com

  DoH Services is still blocked in family.

  With those in place things seem to be working fine most of the time. I presume, though, that applying those rules to another user would mean apple private relay works and so they could bypass firewalla, so this workaround is only any good until my son's phone is upgraded to one with the chatgpt integration...
