Vodafone Power Station replacement? (with voice as well)
Dear friends, my new FWa Gold ha just arrived!
I’m now considering to substitute my current Vodafone Power Station (in Italy) connected to the 1Gbps fiber via their VF ONT.
Considering my VF Station currently manages the voice as well, via SIP protocol, and the ONT exits via 802.1q… what would he best Firewalla Gold config? Given I've a NAS and a complex studio network... I'd be happy to leverage on my new Gold at most.
In a second moment I’ll buy and install a Wifi Mesh Router (I'm choosing the right one), in bridged mode, while initially I’d rather reuse the Vodafone Power Station for wifi only (as an access point).
Has anybody thought about the best configuration of the GOLD in such a Vodafone fiber environment?
I'm afraid I'll have to cascade 3 routers in my final architecture, such as below, but... asking yr advice.
STREET --> ONT --> VF STATION (only for voice) --> FW GOLD (real router) --> WIFI MESH
While initially (with no Wifi Mesh additional router) I'm afraid I'll have to use the GOLD in NON-router mode... not to lose the voice services... simply connected to the Station.

We do have a triple play feature that you can play with. See this https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050756593-Firewalla-Gold-Triple-Play-VLAN
What this one does it automatically set up the VLAN's for your phone + internet + video.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I think the triple play is not suitable for my configuration: I've no IPTV and the voice requires a non ethernet plug.
At the moment, while I've ordered an Asus ZenWifi AX couple of mesh routers, I've tried the simple mode: I see the network but I cannot block anything. For instance I tried blocking wifi for one iPad and the PS4, or started the "social hour", but... nothing happened (I've not enabled the HDCP mode, at the moment). I could only see connected devices and see the browsed websites.

When you are in the simple mode in that router, tap on devices->[find the device that's having problem blocking]->tap->tap on network flows, and see if you see graphs on that device. If you don't see anything, likely the simple mode is not compatible.
Anyway, your best implementation will be the Gold in router mode, it should not have issues in your previous topology.

It seems I can see all of the devices traffic, but can block only a few of them (for instance I can block my Macbook Pro, but not my kid's PS4). Anyhow... my new WiFi access point (Asus ZenFi XT8 mesh wifi6 router) has arrived and so I can "complete the definitive setup".
What I've reasoned about is this configuration: please advise me if it's correct...
STREET --> ONT --> VF STATION (only for voice) --> FW GOLD (real router) --> WIFI MESH (in access point mode)
My VF Power Station will be configured in STATIC NAT to pass all the web traffic to the Firewalla, that will act as the real router, with DHCP and the like. The VF Station (other than managing "voice" - it has the traditional phone line plugs) is even receiving the fiber cable transport from the ONT... that could not be accepted in the Firewalla (from what I know).
In this way I hope to still get the maximum potential throughput (1Gbps fiber), as the VF Power Station, with its "limited capabilities", should only remap the coming IP address to the fixed Firewalla Gold one.
Is it correct? Many thanks in advance for excellent service!

Everything "re-wired": and almost everything works.
My main problems now are within my Synology DS1019+ NAS Server (and same problem with my Macbook with qBittorrent). Although I've forwarded the used TCP/UDP ports, some services requiring external comms are not working anymore (for instance a classical app that uses ports, such as the torrent module does not work). I'm afraid this problem originates from the "double router" in the middle... but I think this could be solved/repaired: any advise on this?
Many thanks
