Yes, we have a high priority feature item on this.  This is somewhat like a snooze button, which is the opposite of the action button.

+1 - this feature would made Firewalla MUCH better for parental control.  Just need the ability to "give" access to devices or sites for a time-bound amount of time...ideally settable in 15-min increments.  So, for example, I can enable YouTube for 15 mins, or I can enable a specific iPad for 30 mins.

    +1 Agreed!
Looking into Parental Control with a Blue and while it's looking good I agree this would make thing so much better! By default it's blocked, and we could allow kids to use Games/Video sites for a limited amount of time, ideally configurable in 15-30m increments on one device or a group. That would be more of a set-and-forget situation than how it works right now, because we need to remember to block the category again after 1h.

It should be relatively easy to implement since the logic is already there to change rules on a schedule? Any news on this?

Really needed - especially when a local device is blocked but you have no idea why.  A five-minute allow-all would make it easy to test and rule out if Firewalla is causing the blockage. Maybe offer a unblock within the country (there is a lot of crap outside the USA I'd like to remain blocked).

this feature should be there to snooze an https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360008521833-Manage-Rules#h_7eb138a9-c172-4311-9c4a-ea4dba3de51a

That's awesome, although it's a bit buried right now! The feature request then becomes: allow us to create buttons for Rules (similar to Internet/Gaming/Social etc.), and make them easily accessible to be paused from the main page or device/group in the App!

For normal FW rules this is not that important, but for Parental Control related rules easy access from the app is key!

Any update on being able to pause a rule from the category buttons as well?

Any update on being able to pause a rule using the category buttons as well (gaming, etc.)? Maybe on a button long-press?

This will likely happen in 1.60 or 1.61 (next version after 1.56)

Waiting for this feature to become available as well. For now, I've pinned the Kids' group to the main screen so I no longer have to dig through screens to unpause a rule. One time, I forgot to pause the rule again and found my kids playing with the Internet all night long. Ugh.

The temporary allow is already there, which buttons are you having issues with? Most of the buttons like block internet, scheduled rules, when they are active, you can tap on it pause them.

Hi, sorry for being unclear. I meant: when a rule is PAUSED, the request is to temporarily UNPAUSE the rule -- this option (that this whole thread is about) is not yet available.

As Cole Maddox mentioned, I have a similar situation:

I have Internet blocked for my children from 8pm - 8am every day. The rule ALLOWS internet (please don't ask my why I set it up that way -- there's a reason) access, but I have it PAUSED.

Sometimes, I need to allow them to use the Internet for 30 minutes as a reward. To do so, I have to UNPAUSE the Allow rule. Then I have to remember to PAUSE the rule again to block internet access.

Currently, you can TEMPORARILY PAUSE a rule, but there is no way to TEMPORARILY UNPAUSE a rule.

    -------

    Another use case:

I have a rule that allows a DMZ server to talk to my internal NAS. To prevent a potential security issue, I have PAUSED the rule.

Sometimes, I need to have the DMZ server access the NAS. This is when REMOVE the PAUSE. Afterwards, I need to remember to SET the PAUSE again to block DMZ to talk to the NAS. If I forget, a potential threat actor could have unrestricted access to the NAS until I realize the rule was no longer in place.
