How-to VPN setup
Noob's here.... I am currently seeking a how-to or guidance on how to setup my firewallas base on the following scenario.
My parents lives 2 hours away from me. My kids recently moved to Florida with their moms. They look up to me for all of their IT needs. I wanted to find a way of adding their home network as an extension of my home network in a secure manner that will give them network access to my NAS and allows me easier access for troubleshooting. Firewalla kept coming up on my searches therefore I purchased 3 of them. A gold for my home network and 2 blue. Based on my online searches the best solution was to created site-to-site vpn to my gold. I plan on using my FWG in router mode and use the ISP provided routers from my parents and Kids.
Now that I have the devices I am not really sure if it will work as I expected. In order to test them I am thinking of getting two netgear wireless router to upgrade the ISP provided routers for my parents and kids.
Before I do so, I wanted to find out if anyone here is using their Firewallas in a similar scenario. Any help, recommendations, guides will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Lastly, I have checked out all the VPN related documents and comments here..

I've done something similar and it works. As long as:
- all 3 Firewalla as registered in your app
- Port UDP 1194 is port forwarded at each of the respective ISP routers to the blues
then,
- go into your Firewalla Gold. select vpn client, choose site to site, select the first remote site (it'll ask if you really want to allow peer access from the remote site, which it seems you do), and firewalla will take care of the rest.
- repeat this for the second remote site.
this should work. good luck
