Firewalla App for Kindle Fire?
-
Thanks. I have it working now although I had to jump through some extra hoops. I should have mentioned I was trying to pair the Fire as a second device and I only have the phone as my primary paired device.
1) Enable pairing to a second device via app on primary device.
2). Take a screenshot of qr code
3) Use a qr reader app that allows input as photos
4) Email myself the long string that comes back from that qr code
5) Finally paste that text into the app running on the Fire. It's now working perfectly. Thank you all for your help!

I don't know about the current generation of Fire's but this one is terrible. Mine is an 8" generation 7 model. I'm hoping Amazon has done better with the newer ones.
I didn't even document the steps to get the Play Store installed. That adds about 5 more steps. Since Amazon uses its own app store you have to track down the 4 or 5 APK files needed for the Play Store and side load them. That was the original request about having the application approved for Amazon's app store but based on the camera on this one it's best left for people like me that don't mind a lot of tinkering to make it work. :)
I will say this though. The support you folks provide is phenomenal and I'm so happy to have purchased the Blue. I may be upgrading to a gold soon as I am expecting an upgrade to fiber internet any week now. I might have bought the gold originally but I wasn't willing to spend the extra money until I had a chance to test drive the Blue and see what support was like. You have exceeded all expectations!
