Skype sound unstable and echo

In the meantime, I've checked further: bypassing firewallA gold, by connecting the Skype-PC to the cable modem (Arris) directly, did solve the echo-sound problem during Skype std. voice-call meetings. So, my configuration of firewalla gold is obviously not fully correct.

I have pure IP-V6 to outside, internally on fwA, I had DHCP V4 and DHCP V6 active. I will try to fiddle with V6 settings between outer and inner subnet. Since the setting here is somewhat twisted, I could not find anything on internet search.

What is the mode that you are running on the Firewalla Gold?  And for the ipv4 case, was it all tunneled out from the Gold through your main router?   If you want us to check the system, send an email to help@firewalla.com

Thanks for your response. My mode is DHCP mode on WAN-port, IPv6 on, connection type DHCPv6, Port forwarding for all MS-recommended ports & port-ranges active. On LAN-port, DHCP Server is on, creating separate internal network 192.168.44.x (so not interfering with Arris cable modem TG3442DE running its own DHCP server for 192.168.64.x; Arris has only one client beside firewallA gold, a free-access-wifi-router I am running for public area neighbourhood outside). On LAN-side, also IPv6 is on, and DHCPv6 is on, config type "statless". This morning I tested on my Skype-Notebook via wifi, running through firewallA gold as configured above, and used "Echo test" without any problems. Final test would however be next group meeting tomorrow morning....

By DHCP mode, meaning there are devices on the primary network that's managed by Firewalla Gold?  Or most of your network are attached to LAN ports on the Firewalla Gold?

DHCP mode doesn't handle ipv6 well on the main network.  So you may want to turn off ipv6 on the main network and see if everything improves.

The test case of group meeting on skype did work well without echo this morning.

What has changed: nothing on FirewallA gold configuration (all IPv6 still active, WAN- and LAN-side), but I had rebooted fwA-g via app.

And the Skype notebook was on .ac wifi (instead of cable before, with problems), ipconfig showing me that the Skype NB had only a link-local IPv6 address. I will test later, after work hours, how it behaves with cable-connection again (I vaguely remember that there was a full IPv6 setting active on that cabled-NIC of the Skype notebook)

Since last post, I had had two Skype meetings: undisturbed by sound problems. Since no configuration on firewallA has been explicitly changed, only the reboot of firewallA gold via app remains that might have cured a casual error. On the side of the notebook which had the problematic skype sessions, a reboot had NOT cured the problem, which was however definitely linked to muted (no echo) and non-muted (echo) switch of skype client. Altogether, only one morning meeting was affected.

Thus, the case can be suspended, with unclear cause.
