Upgrade the Firewalla Gold

So it looks pretty easy to upgrade the hard drive and upgrade the ram in the firewalla gold. will I see any benefit or is the software tuned to use only the 4gb and 32gb ssd. The more space and ram will allow for more dockers, like unifi, and pi-hole

  @ma ar, where you heard this? Firewalla will NEVER waste memory, as you mentioned. If you have the source, I can look at it.

  You can’t upgrade to a new version of Linux yourself without the original RAM reinstalled. I put the original back in, upgraded then put the upgrade back. However, installing new RAM is not a waste, especially if you add anything extra. I have the original Gold, its the first item I upgraded along with an internal SSD.

  @Andy Brown do you have a link to the SSD you bought? I want to take a crack at that. I found instructions on this website — did you just follow the instructions that are on this forum?

  You will see my post on the SSD. The one I installed was gone and probably obsolete now. But not sure the two links I posted would be available now after 4 years.
