Recommended WiFi for Firewalla Gold
I currently have the Firewalla Blue with an Amplify by Ubiquity Mesh WiFi. I'm wondering if there is a preferred/suggested WiFi for optimal results? I just purchased the Firewalla Gold and Would love to hear people's thoughts/suggestions if i should upgrade my WiFi at the same time. Thanks!

Assuming you are going to use the Gold as the main router. The Gold is a really fast and resourceful box that can handle all the layer 3 (IP layer) routing and filtering and security stuff. In this case, the wifi you need
- able to run in AP / Bridge mode. only provide wifi service. (so, you don't need anything expensive)
- should have really good wifi ... (analog / antenna ...)
- mesh or no mesh
In your case, I'd wait until you get the Gold. Once you do, plug in your existing mesh wifi and configure it to bridge/AP mode, and see if your experience is better. We have one customer who has a pair of old Eero's and he was pretty happy with wifi after offloading routing to the Gold.

I work exclusively with Ubiquiti products except for their junk USG firewall. (EdgeMax, Unify, etc.) Firewalla is completely right in their suggested config with using the Gold as a your Gateway. Modify your Amplify (with wifi6 i'm guessing) to AP/Bridge mode, and then ensure the SPI firewall is disabled in addition to any Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) function as well. Ubiquiti calls DPI "Traffic Analysis" and often has it's own tap in the webgui.
Disabling SPI and DPI will reduce resource usage on the Amplify and let it function even better as an wifi access point as it has less role dependencies.
Note: GOLD is awesome . It has definite room for improvement but the progress that's been made so far is impressive.
