    We call that tagging.  Likely be released in a few months.

    Please follow our newsletters or Facebook, when that come, we will likely start to ask people for beta tests.  Also, it is also likely the feature will come to the firewalla gold first, then move to the blue/red

    I just installed my Firewalla today and didn't even know this was not possible yet.

    I am coming from CUJO and I had this feature out of the box. I bought the Blue not knowing about any Gold. This is very displeasing as I feel I should have waited for the latest box to come out.

    Wondering f I made the right choice now.

    Yeah, I guess it would be good to know if this is the delivery model going forward. Will new features go to the latest/greatest model first, before deploying to the older ones? If so, what's the timeframe between these deployments? Kind of strange to think that the Blue is already becoming second-class!

    In any case, thanks for the quick info on my original question. I'll keep an eye on the FB page for more info on beta testing.

    I opened a ticket and they said coming soon.

    @firewalla

    Make sure this "tagging" allows not only devices in groups but also the ability to group the services that you are blocking. ie Social and Video in the same rule.

    Also I have enable the beta on my Firewalla via the Testpilot link. Any word if this will be added to the beta or do I need to sign up?

    We are going to change "tagging" name to "grouping".   The grouping concept should be applied to devices and rules, and we should get all the features to be "group aware", which should work well for kids and many other things.

    Thanks for this added info. This wouldn't prevent grouped devices from being managed individually as well, right?

    For sure will be restrictions.  For example, if you have device A,B,C in group G1.  And you enabled Ad-block on that group, you won't be able to turn off Ad-block off for C until C is out of the group G1.

    Ok thanks. Given the configuration you described, I assume I can turn off internet for the group. But would I also be able to turn off internet for one of the devices in the group without turning it off for the whole group?

    Aaron, yes you will able to do that.

    We'll make sure that you can view and manage your individual devices even if they are grouped.

    Firewalla seems to be much stronger as a (content) firewall than Circle and Fing. A great product. The feature of grouping or tagging whatever it is called is really missing. Especially if you use it for a household with kids. Hope it comes soon.

    It will be supported in the next release, we are testing it.

    It will be soon open for early access trial. likely in two weeks.

    Hi,

    I bought the device more than an year ago, but have not been able to use it as it does not work with my google routers in simple mode, and I can't use it in any other mode, as I need to be able to pause/unpause group of devices (e.g. all TVs, all computers etc), which google app provides. Can you provide an exact ETA when this feature will be released?

    See this for grouping.  https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360046872134-Early-Access-Onboarding

    Google Wifi ... is a google wifi problem.  We are hoping one day google will fix their bug ...  so you can use Simple Mode with Google Wifi.  For now, please stick with DHCP mode.

    Yes;  You can google "google wifi dns problems", then you will see a bunch of people talking about it.   When you run firewalla in simple mode, that somehow accelerates this problem to happen more often.

    I opted in for beta and got the beta app on iPhone, but do not see an option to create a device group under devices

    @Anurag,

    The grouping feature is only available in the early access version. It has not been deployed to beta yet.

    For early access, please check out this post:
