Unable to monitor
Hi, I am using firewalla as a bridge (with my verizon fios router). I set it up like in the set up pictures (ie, modem -> wireless verizon router -> firewalla. Everything seems to be working but my daughter just joined the network with her laptop via wifi. And when I check her device, the app says, "unable to monitor - the traffice of this device cannot be captured by firewalla. Connect this device to the downlink ports on firewalla to get monitored."
Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? Please let me know.

The problem is that the wireless router is not connected to the Firewalla. Wireless clients are connecting directly to the Verizon wireless router, bypassing the Firewalla.
It would be helpful if you provided the model number of your Verizon router, and if you referenced the set-up instructions you followed.

I have a firewalla gold se with verizon CR1000A. I had the firewalla in bridge mode because the verizon rep told me that I am unable to put this router in bridge mode.
I decided to turn the firewalla into router mode and connected it to the verizon ONT with the hopes of being able to use a mesh wifi device that I had (TP-Link Deco AXE4900) but for some reason I cannot get that wifi device to work.
This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. -
There is a section in the configuration guide for Verizon with that router:
-
A Ctrl-F to search that guide shows no hits for that router.
As long as you don't want to use the Wi-Fi on that router, you should still be able to use it. Just connect the Firewalla to one of its LAN ports. You will have double NAT for that router, so if you want to do port forwarding, you'll need to do it in the router as well as Firewalla, but you shouldn't have other issues.

I suggest trying Firewalla's troubleshooting guide:
https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053534593-How-do-I-debug-network-connectivity-issues -
What does this mean? "When the CR1000A is ready, you should see it as a devic on Firewalla. You may want to do an IP reservation for the CR1000A on Firewalla at this point and reboot the CR1000A again."
it means that CR1000A will appear as a device on the firewalla. You might want to use an IP reservation so that it always gets the same IP address. There are a few reasons for this but one is so that you can access the UI if the CR1000A in the future. It also helps with the coordination of the Firewalla and the CR1000A IPs.

@James,
I don't see a manual for Ausa XSR250GK. General strategies: (for 2 and 3 see https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411167832851-Firewalla-Router-Mode-Configuration-Guides)- See if you really need the ISP router. Can you use just a modem instead?
- See if it has a bridge mode.
- If it has no bridge mode, see if it has a passthrough mode.
- If it has neither, and you have to use the ISP modem, see if it has a DMZ. Put Firewalla in the DMZ. You will still have double NAT, but it should work. Disable all firewall rules in the router for the Fireawalla.
