    No, the MD5 shown on the screen is for the Firewalla image flashed to the internal storage device.

    The checksum values(MD5 and SHA256) for the downloaded image are shown on the web page(https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048626153-Firewalla-Gold-and-Gold-Plus-How-to-Flash-Installer-Image), and they should be checked right after the image is downloaded to ensure it is not corrupted during download. You would need a tool to calculate the checksum values of local downloaded image file for visual comparison.

    The downloaded image matches, I checked that and flashing to USB completed and verified. My question was relating to the onscreen hash, should it match the downloaded image?

    All you need is to match the USB hash. The inner hash is really for us to look at.
