How can I store the date so the date remains after reboot?

A little bit lost here. A lot (if not all) linux based systems will use NTP to set time, if you block internet, you will also block it.

And with firewalla, if you don't have internet connection to it, it will NOT be able to pull the intelligence data from the cloud, which likely render your firewall to be less effective. Any reason doing this?

What I want is to restore previously set time. I am using wpa_supplicant to authenticate the internet connection. But the date reset by rebooting is way old so that the certificate is assumed as invalid.

Can you let me know how you are using the wpa_supplicant? if not NTP is not running, there is no guarantee of time. Also, i do know the box will store the last time during boot, which may be off by a bit.

wpa_supplicant is used to authenticate the network provider's certificate. The certificate is valied betwwen 2022 ~ 2030. But I think when reboot (after power outage), the firewalla box time is reset to somewhere around 2020 or 2022. So wpa_supplicant does not proceeds the authentication process. I don't think the box store the last time. My box version is 1.9770 (4e7439ac) ant app version is 1.56.1

The box will periodically record the timestamp to a local file (every hour).

When it reboots, it should set the time to the most recent recorded time, even without internet access. This is done by a systemd service. From logs, you may see date fell back to 2022 or older, and later it is reconfigured to a newer time.

If it doesn't work like this, you may send email to help@firewalla.com, so that we can take a look at your system.
