Third Party Wi-Fi Dongle

Anyone tried to use a Third Party SD Wi-Fi dongle and got it to work on FWG?

The reason is, the current one sold by Firewalla supports only 200 Mbps speed and I'm looking for a higher speed dongle.

I've tried to connect one and install its needed drivers on the box, however I still cannot get a Wi-Fi prompt on the phone application.

  Are you using the wifi WAN as your primary ISP? 

  Firewalla only works with the Firewalla WiFiSD modules.

  Not using it since its not working, but the plan is to connect the wifi as a failover WAN

  I would like to see a wifi 6E usb dongle that provides better coverage.

  @Peter, are you planning to use this for WiFi WAN or AP?

  @Firewalla, I was testing a third party one, I believe you only support for Firewalla’s wifi dongle

  @khalid @firewalla so I’m not the only one having issues with the Wi-Fi SD. Just received mine (original from Firewalla) and it is not recognised by the FWG either. I plugged it into my Windows PC and it shows up under peripherals, if I then connect it to the FWG it appears and I can set-up a failover WAN but shortly after the app indicates “Wi-Fi SD not detected”…. I’m not interested in a faster or xG dongle I just want the existing one to work.

  @Michael

  Try to swap the USB port used on the firewalla you plug the wifi SD.  Do contact support as well, in case it is a software configuration issue.
