Allow Verizon Smart Family VPN
I’m trying to enable Verizon’s Smart Family app on my children’s iPhones. The app uses a Verizon VPN to manage/monitor Internet traffic from their phones and allows us to restrict certain categories of content.
However, we are also using Firewalla’s Family Protect which blocks all VPN traffic from my kids devices. So, when Verizon’s VPN is on, all Internet traffic from my children’s iPhones is blocked on my home network. I don’t want to disable the Firewalla VPN rule, but I do want to allow the Verizon VPN through. Is there a way to do that?

Does the Verizon VPN take all the phone traffic or just partial? if they take all traffic, then there is no point running firewalla parental control in parallel, since it can't see through VPN.
If just partial traffic, you need to add allow rules to verizon VPN to allow it through the blocking. The IP address used by them, you need to ask verizon

Do you know the IP or destination used by the Verizon VPN? if you do it is very easy to add it to an allow rule.

I had this set up on my daughters phone. I took it off and installed Wireguard on her phone. Since she has an iPhone, the wireguard app will disconnect when she is home, and reconnect when she leave (or turns the wifi off). this way all her traffic is being router though my home and not through Verizon.... I felt more comfortable doing that then have all her traffic going through Verizon. And it gave me more control over what she can access. Found somethings not being blocked through the Verizon app that I have blocked for her in the Firewalla.
Food for thought there.
But as @Firewalla said. You would have to figure out the domain/IP address for the VPN and add a allow rule for the phone.
