NAS media server not visible
I recently got a Firewalla Purple SE and set it up as my router (I have been using Red for years.)
Everything is working except that my TV (and other devices cannot find the media server on my Synology NAS. Everything else on the NAS is working perfectly.
As the firewalla has only 1 ethernet output, I have an 8-port unmanaged switch. the NAS, my main computer, and another windows machine I use as a server for a couple of applications are connected by ethernet to the switch. A wifi access point is also connected to the switch. The TV connects by wifi.
On my main computer, the media server is visible, and i can use Windows media player to play video and music from the server.
No other devices can see the media server. (this includes the other windows box which is right next to my main computer and connected exactly the same way.
I have also tried sharing media from my main computer, but no devices can see it.
My guess is there is some rule blocking the necessary ports (but I dont' understand why 1 computer, and only 1, can see the media). But I cannot tell what needs to be changed. I have browsed both Synology and these forums without success.
Any suggestions? We have lots of home movies that we often want to watch on the tv.
